Turning vision into reality

Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation will donate NIS 200 million toward the establishment of the Jusidman Rehabilitation Hospital in Sde Dov, which is expected to become the largest rehabilitation hospital in Israel

A new hospital, with a total investment of approximately 390$ million, expected to become the largest rehabilitation hospital in Israel, is being established in Tel Aviv. A Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation will contribute NIS 200 million as a major anchor donation toward the establishment of the new Jusidman Rehabilitation Hospital campus, in partnership with the Tel Aviv Foundation and the Reuth Association. The remaining funding will come from additional municipal, governmental, and private sources.

This donation reflects a strategic philanthropic vision and serves as a cornerstone of the Hope Strategy led by the Tel Aviv Foundation in its 50th year. The Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation donation represents a significant share of the hospital’s construction costs and helped bring the project to fruition. The establishment of the Jusidman Rehabilitation Hospital is a flagship project in the city’s investment portfolio and one of the most important strategic healthcare initiatives in Israel.

The Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital, managed by Dr. Orit Stein Reisner, will relocate and expand its operations from the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood in south Tel Aviv to a new campus in Sde Dov, in the city’s north. Construction is expected to be completed in approximately six years, marking a transformative step in urban development, rehabilitation, and geriatrics in Israel. Building on 65 years of history and serving thousands of patients annually, the hospital will include approximately 540 beds, an expanded day rehabilitation unit, innovative treatment facilities, a hydrotherapy pool, trauma clinic, advanced institutes and clinics, a research and development hub, and green spaces for the wellbeing of patients and their families

Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo and Chairman of the Tel Aviv Foundation: “The establishment of the new Jusidman Rehabilitation Hospital is another significant step toward strengthening Israel’s rehabilitation healthcare system. Tel Aviv-Yafo, a leading city in public health, is mobilizing to address rehabilitation needs, which have become increasingly urgent for wounded soldiers, trauma victims, and others seeking a real opportunity to return to an independent and fulfilling life. The generous donation of Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation reflects deep trust in the ability of the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo and the Tel Aviv Foundation to lead transformative initiatives. Through the Tel Aviv Foundation, we are implementing a vision of health, resilience, and hope that will impact the lives of Tel Aviv residents and Israeli citizens for many years to come”.

Igal Jusidman, Representative of the Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation: “For many years, rehabilitation medicine did not receive the attention it deserved within Israel’s healthcare system. It took a long and painful war to remind us of the critical role rehabilitation plays in restoring lives, dignity, and independence. Through the Jusidman Rehabilitation Hospital, we hope to contribute to the recovery of those who have defended Israel and paid a heavy personal price in its service. By helping create a world-class rehabilitation facility, we seek to honor their sacrifice and support their journey toward healing. This is our way of saying: Thank you for your service”.

Dr. Hila Oren, CEO of the Tel Aviv Foundation: “In its 50th year, the Tel Aviv Foundation has chosen to place hope at the center of its work. The generous donation from the Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation demonstrates how strategic philanthropy, led by the Tel Aviv Foundation, can turn an urban vision into a reality that changes lives and strengthens the resilience of Tel Aviv-Yafo and the State of Israel. I thank the Jusidman Family and its Foundation for their partnership, and the Mayor for presenting a clear, long-term urban vision that enables transformative initiatives to become a reality”.

Professor Nachman Ash, Chairman of the Reuth Association: “Our longstanding partnership with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Tel Aviv Foundation is deeply moving and especially critical to establishing a national strategic project to advance rehabilitation and geriatric care in Israel. As the former Director General of the Ministry of Health and Chairman of Reuth, I am well acquainted with the growing nationwide need for these services, especially considering recent events and an aging population. The hospital already serves patients from across Israel, and thanks to the generous donation of the Jusidman Family Charitable Foundation, we will be able to significantly increase the number of rehabilitation and geriatric patients treated and substantially improve hospitalization conditions. We are coordinating with the Ministries of Health and Finance to finalize the scope of government support for this important project”.
