New in Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital: Sha’arim Center for Trauma Rehabilitation

Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital is proud to announce the opening of the Sha’arim Center for the Treatment of Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The center is dedicated to caring for wounded IDF soldiers and members of the security forces who have sustained physical and psychological injuries since October 7.

The Sha’arim Center provides a wide range of intensive treatments, including:

  • Comprehensive care and follow-up by specialist physicians and a rehabilitation nurse
  • Emotional therapy and psychological and psychiatric support
  • Assistance from social workers
  • Physiotherapy and occupational therapy
  • Rehabilitative complementary medicine
  • Chronic pain management
  • Biofeedback therapy
  • Music therapy
  • Therapeutic gardening
  • Spiritual care

The center is led by Dr. Miri Kfir, a psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating trauma and conditions impacting physical and mental health.

Dr. Kfir emphasized: “Of the thousands of war-wounded individuals, nearly half report significant mental health challenges. These numbers represent a scale of need that the State of Israel has not encountered before, with implications that will persist for years to come. The rehabilitative approach at Reuth TLV, proven effective in restoring independence for thousands of patients, is built on the foundation of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team. This team integrates experts from rehabilitation and mental health fields, combining a variety of therapeutic approaches. Together, they provide a supportive and holistic framework to enhance recovery and foster healing”.
